I've a product of LBUSD and have been teaching for the district since 2002. Currently I teach physics and the senior Biomedical Innovations capstone class for the biomedical pathway. In addition to teaching at Sato, I'm a part time lecturer at CSULB for the Science Education Department and in the summer I co-direct Young Scientists Camp at CSULB. I'm curious about nature and like to bring that out in my students in the classroom by using inquiry based instruction and project based learning to explore the world around us.
Sato has a great hands on program that provides student with skills they'll use with any career they choose.
When I'm not teaching, you'll find me on the trails running long distance and my newest hobby of mountain biking.

Hi! I am Ms. Phelps and I've been enjoying teaching Sato Dragons since the Fall of 2015 in the humanities and social sciences. As a CSULB Alumni, I enjoy introducing and helping our Dragons navigate the CSULB Library which they have physical and digital access to throughout high school at Sato Academy.
