Principal's Message

Dear Sato Community,

It is an honor to serve as principal of Sato Academy of Mathematics and Science. As a lifelong Long Beach resident, proud LBUSD graduate, and educator and school leader in the district for 25 years, I am incredibly proud and humbled to join this remarkable community.

From my first days on campus, I have been inspired by Sato’s students, faculty, staff, and families. Our students are kind, confident, curious, and genuinely supportive of one another. Our dedicated teachers continue to provide rigorous and innovative learning experiences, while our outstanding support staff work tirelessly to ensure that every student feels welcomed, valued, and prepared for success. Sato’s accomplishments are the result of years of collaboration, high expectations, and a shared commitment to students.

Our focus this year is to build upon that strong foundation—honoring the amazing work already taking place while strengthening our programs and creating new opportunities for the future. As part of that work, our campus is receiving much-needed improvements, including a new turf field, HVAC upgrades, and important updates throughout our buildings. These projects will be completed in phases and will help provide safe, comfortable, and engaging spaces for generations of Dragons.
